I volunteered to be a guinea pig for AirRestore USA because I have suffered from so many allergies during my lifetime. Here is a video of my experience, or you can continue reading below.
My latest life altering experience with allergies was on December 27th when my nephew got married. He and his bride went to great lengths to make sure there was no shellfish that could cause me and my son, the pastor who officiated the wedding, to not be able to eat at the reception. The only problem is, when shellfish is cooking it emits a protein as it steams through the air and that can cause the same reaction as eating the shellfish. When the lid was lifted off of the pan of shellfish warming on the hor d'oeurve table, the steam started moving through the air and it wasn't long before we had to leave the reception. If you are reading this and allergic to shellfish you probably understand what I am saying.
This type of experience has happened more often than I care to remember, and it causes my husband and I, and other family members as well, to miss out on many occasions with family and friends. So when I had the opportunity to test the AirRestore purifier for the inventor of the product, I was happy to do it. I would not be truthful if I said I wasn't nervous. I WAS!!!
But I wanted to do this for me as well as for him...
I did my first test in a ChickFilA. In the photo above you see the little AirRestore on Demand next to a cup from a kid's meal at ChickFilA. We took three of our grandchildren with us and I purposely chose a table as close to the kitchen as possible. Normally it is hard for me to sit in a ChickFilA at all to eat because of the peanut oil that they use to fry their chicken (which I hear is delicious, but I will probably never taste it). My peanut oil allergy is not as severe as my shellfish allergy so I decided to try the unit here first to see if it would work in these conditions and not be life threatening to me. I was a little disappointed at first because I thought, even though they were very busy, they must not be using much peanut oil that day. When my husband brought the food to our table and sat down I told him that this must not have been a very good day for the test because it seemed that there was no peanut oil in the air. He was very surprised and told me that it was really quite heavy in the air. I couldn't smell it at all. And my lungs were not getting tight or my nose itching. We stayed in the ChickFilA for at least 45 minutes and we all finished our meals. I had the AirRestore device sitting on the table in front of me, about a foot from my face. I never smelled anything other than fresh air, never had a reaction of any kind.
The next day I decided to be brave and go to Applebee's. What's so scary about Applebee's you may ask? Well they serve shellfish in Applebee's and they sometimes serve their shellfish steaming right on the plate as they serve it. This usually causes a problem for me because as the shellfish steams through the air it begins to affect me lungs and throat. I usually have to leave before I get my food, sometimes before I even order. We sat in Applebee's and ordered. I asked our server to have them be careful because I am deathly allergic to shellfish, so to please make sure nothing touches my food or plate that has touched shellfish. She assured me they would. I received my meal, I ate, we recorded me sitting in Applebee's after the meal with the AirRestore on the table in front of me, and having no problems. My husband said that at first it seemed fairly strong in the air but the longer we stayed the less he noticed. We realized that this was because the AirRestore was not only energizing my air space but it was reaching his as well. By the way, my granddaughter told me that the man seated directly behind me was eating shrimp. Wow! This gave me a little more confidence. We stayed and talked for a few minutes and left after a nice dinner with our grandchildren.

So finally I felt ready for the ultimate test. We decided that the following day at noon we would go to Red Lobster. It had probably been 25 years since I had set foot in a seafood restaurant.
